Advanced Breast Biopsy Instrumentation  

The ABBI procedure for Lumpetomy Margin has been approved by the FDA for treatment of breast cancer.   The lumpectomy will be done using stereotactic x-ray guidance.  This procedure followed by a standard lumpectomy or mastectomy.  The first part will involve 50 patients from our office.  A sentinel lymph node biopsy may be performed as part of the procedure. After the first 50 patients have been completed, a typical lumpectomy may not need to be performed at all.  The ABBI along with a possible sentinel lymph node biopsy will be the only procedures necessary.
